Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate are the AI summaries?
Our AI is trained to identify and extract key findings, methodologies, and implications from academic papers. While summaries are highly accurate, we always encourage consulting the original article to verify details as hallucinations may occur, especially for citation purposes.
Can I access articles behind paywalls?
JournalBriefs provides summaries and links to original articles and their Pubmed listing. Access to full articles depends on your institution's subscriptions or the journal's open access policies. We aggregate metadata and create summaries, but don't bypass publisher access controls.
Are summaries limited to Pubmed-indexed articles only?
Yes. Pubmed provides a reliable source of metadata including abstract information for a wide array of medical journals. Non-indexed medical journals and non-medical journals are beyond the scope of this site.
How many journals can I follow?
The number of journals depends on your subscription tier. You can see the limits on our pricing page. You can upgrade your plan at any time to follow more journals.
When are the digests sent?
You'll receive email digests based on your selected frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly depending on your plan). Emails are sent at 05:00 for the timezone you select. Weekly emails are sent on Sunday mornings. Monthly emails are sent on the 2nd of the month. Some delay (~ 2 days) from publication to emails is needed to allow adequate time for building summaries.
Can I change plans later?
Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings. Upgrades are immediate. Downgrades take effect at your next billing cycle. Cancellation is as easy as upgrading. Your journal subscriptions are saved if you choose to renew in the future.
What if I don't like it?
All paid plans include a 1-day trial, with no credit card required. If you don't like it, just do nothing and it will go away. You can also delete your account completely if you desire. Once subscribed, you can easily cancel at any time and retain access until the end of your current billing period.
What journals are available?
If it's indexed on Pubmed, it's available.
